When Does This Solution Apply: A Keeley & Mercury Team Member is requesting Sick Leave.
Description: This article guides a Keeley or Mercury Team Member through requesting requesting sick leave, viewing pending requests, and potentially cancelling unwanted requests on the Sage People portal.

1. To Request Sick Leave, you will need to go to the main Vacation & Absence page
a. Selecting the arrow next to "Time Off" will bring down the option "Vacation & Absence"
b. Select the icon at the top left, then select the "Time Off" option to expand the list and select the "Vacation & Absence" option.
c. Select on "New" on the left side of the Vacation & Absence page.
d. Choose the "Start Date" and "End Date" for your requested time off and then select "Sick Leave" under Reason. Then select "Next".
NOTE: Company policy allows up to 24 hours (3 days) for Sick Leave, so the system will only allow you to take that much. If additional days are needed, reach out to HR.
e. Next, if you’re unsure that you will return on your end date select “Yes” for “Can Your End Date Change?” otherwise leave it as “No”. You can add comments and/or attachments if needed. You can also see your total balance at the bottom.
f. Once the Sick Leave request is submitted, it will take you back to the Vacation & Absence page where you can see your pending request on the calendar. You can hover over the colored box to see what it is.
g. The bottom of the page has the option to show "Legends". This can tell you what each color on the calendar means.
h. Selecting on the box on the calendar will allow you to delete or edit the request.
