1. Navigate to the document or folder

  2. Hover over the document or folder to expose and select the "Show actions" option

  3. Select the "Share" option

  4. Select the ellipsis to expose and select the manage access option

  5. Scroll all the way down on the manage access panel until you see "Advanced" and then select that option

  6. At the top left, select "Stop inheriting permission"

  7. Select the check box next to anyone you want to remove their access to the folder or file and then select "Remove User Permission"

  8. Select the "Grant Permissions" option to share with others

  9. Type the name or email of the user in the "Enter names or email address ..." field provided and add a personal message letting the individuals you are sharing with know what/why you are sharing.

  10. Select SHOW OPTIONS option to expose the permission level options

  11. Then select the appropriate permission level for the users you identified in the "Enter names or email address..." field

           - PLEASE NOTE: if you have some users that need to read and others that need to edit, you'll need to do this 2 separate times.


           - Recommendations:

a. Read - select this option if you want the users to be able to only read the information on the file or in  the folder

b. Contribute - select this option if you want the users to be able to read and edit the information on the filed or in the folder


     12. When you have ensured you have the correct permissions, select "Share" to share the file or folder with the users you specified.  An email will be sent and you will be copied.
