Purpose

This article explains how to add an additional email address to the From field in Microsoft Outlook so users can easily switch between email addresses when sending messages.




Procedure

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. Select New Email to open a new message window.

  3. In the new message window, locate the From field.

    • If the From field is not visible, select Options → From to enable it.

  4. Select the arrow on the From button.

  5. Click Other Email Address.

  6. Enter the preferred email address you want to send from.

  7. Select OK.


Expected Result

  • The entered email address will now appear in the From dropdown menu.

  • You can alternate between the available email addresses when composing new emails.


Notes / Best Practices

  • You must have Send As or Send on Behalf permissions for the added email address.

  • If the email address does not save or errors occur, contact IT support to verify permissions.


Troubleshooting

Email Address Does Not Appear

  • Confirm the From field is enabled

  • Restart Outlook and try again

Cannot Send From Address

  • Verify Send As / Send on Behalf permissions are assigned
