This is for when you do not have the person’s AppleID to allow you to wipe the tablet.
First go into Apple Business Manager, search for the device's serial number, and turn off Activation Lock.
Plug iPad into laptop with iTunes or Apple Devices > Hold top button + Home until a slider for Power off appears > slide to power off > Hold top button + Home until it turns back on and keep holding it until the lightning cable plug icon appears.
For newer iPads without the Home button, power off the iPad and plug in the USB-C cable from your computer. Tap in a "One-One Thousand" pace the Up Volume + Down Volume + hold the Side button. Keep the Side button held until Apple icon appears. It will show the plug icon.
iTunes or Apple Devices should now pop up and ask if you want to update or restore the iPad, hit Restore.
It will then ask you to Restore and Update or Cancel. Hit Restore and Update.
You may have to agree to terms if needing to download the software within Itunes/Apple Devices. Allow it to finish, and you will have a wiped iPad at the end.
