When Does This Solution Apply: When a password needs to be reset for an integration user.

 

Description: This is for agents who need to reset the password for a Salesforce Integration User. 

PLEASE NOTE: The reset of passwords for Salesforce integration users should be used as a final measure to obtaining access to the Salesforce account. Admin user group accounts are used in custom applications that communicate with Salesforce, updating passwords will result in a failure of the custom applications to run. If not neccessary, only ask for the O365 account password to be reset. All password information can be found via our Azure secrets portal.

Current Salesforce Integration Users As of 06.29.2020

  1. ADMIN, XTIVIA
  2. Invoice, AR
  3. Salesforce, GIS
  4. Service Account, DTools
  5. Service Account, OpenAir


Ask yourself the below question:

  • Can I still access Salesforce with the current password?


If the answer is yes, then 

  • Send a request to the Help Desk to reset the password for O365 mailbox account ONLY
  • Service Desk will reset the password
  • Receive a new password from the Help Desk
  • Update the password for the office365 account in the Azure secrets portal
  • Notify the Development Team of the new password for access to the email account


If the answer is no, then


UE TEAM

  • Send a request to the Help Desk to reset the password for O365 mailbox account and Salesforce Integration user 


SERVICE DESK

  • Service Desk will go in Salesforce, select Setup




    5. On the Setup page, enter User in to the Quick Find box



    6. Select Users

    7. Find the user name from the list



    8.. Select the checkbox next the name of the user



    9. At the top of the User page, select Reset Password button

    10. Go to outlook.com and enter Integration User Username and password




    11. Look for Salesforce password reset email and follow the link in the email



    12. Verify account via email



    13. Enter verification code from the email

    14. Change the password to match the O365 account password

    15. Send Shared Account Message email to the UE Team Member who requested


UE TEAM

  • Notify the Dev Team of the new password
  • Dev Team to generate a new token

          

  • Non Dev Team to go into O365 portal as the integration user and obtain the actual token and provide to the Dev Team
  • Dev Team to update the password and token in the configuration file for the affected apps
