Overview: This article outlines the process of modifying quote terms on a salesforce CPQ quote. The sections on the quote are defaulted with placeholder values that need to be updated before a quote is delivered. The Quote Document that is generated reflects the updated Quote Terms.   

  1. On the Quote layout, select the "Modify Quote Terms" button
  2. Once you are redirected to the Modify Quote Terms screen, select the Quote Template you'd like to modify
  3. For each section that has placeholder values, overwrite the values by hovering and selecting the Pencil Icon
  4. After modifying each section, select the Save button to lock in your changes
  5. If you need to revert your changes back to the placeholder, select the Revert button in the edit screen
  6. Once all sections are updated with non-placeholder values, select the Close Button to be navigated back to the Quote Layout
  7. If you would like to only see the quote document, select the "Preview Document" button on the Quote Layout and select the applicable Quote Template  
  8. If you would like to generate a quote document for delivery, select the "Generate Document" button and select the 
  9. On the Generate Document Screen,  select the applicable Quote Template, Output Format  (defaults to PDF) , Paper Size  (optional), and Document Name (optional)
  10. If you would like to Preview the document, select the "Preview" Button.
  11. If you would like to Save the document, select the "Save" Button
  12. If you would like to Save and Email the document, select the "Save and Email" button
    1. Note: this will pop open an email screen and prompt you to select a Salesforce contact for delivery. The document will be listed as an attachment to this email
  13. Once a document is generated, it is automatically saved to the Quote and available via the "Related" list

  14. If you navigate to the Quote Document record, you can see or email the quote document at any time by utilizing the "View" and "Email" buttons
