If you're traveling or working from a different location, your laptop may show the wrong time. Follow these steps to adjust your time zone—even without admin rights.

Open Settings
Press
Windows key + IOr click the Start menu and select Settings

Go to Time & Language
In the sidebar, click Time & language
Select Date & Time

Check Time Zone Settings

If “Set time zone automatically” is ON, your device should update based on your location.
âś… If time is correct: You're all set!
❌ If it's wrong: Proceed to step 5.

Turn OFF “Set time zone automatically”
(You may or may not be able to toggle this depending on your organization's settings.)-
Change the Time Zone
If unlocked, you’ll see a Time zone dropdown menu.
Click it and choose your correct time zone.
⚠️ Can't Change It?
If the time zone is grayed out or locked:
Your organization may control this setting.

Submit a request to the IT Service Desk with the following info:
Your current physical location
Your network username
A screenshot of your Date & Time settings (optional)
