🔍 Purpose
Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) allows you to securely access internal company resources without using a traditional VPN. This guide will show you how to confirm that ZPA is connected and authenticated properly.
✅ Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open the Zscaler Client Connector
Look for the Zscaler icon in your Windows system tray (bottom-right corner near the clock).
Double-click the icon to open the Zscaler window.
2. Check the Private Access Status Panel
You should see a screen similar to this:
(Actual image shows authentication is successful, and service is on)
Look at the following indicators:
| Field | Expected Status |
|---|---|
| Service Status | ✅ ON
|
| Authentication Status | ✅ Authenticated (in green) |
| Network Type |
Trusted Network (or Home/Other)
|
| Time Connected | Shows current active session time |
| Broker / Client IP | Shows internal routing addresses |
| Protocol | Should display TLS (secure connection) |
If all of the above looks like the screenshot, ZPA is working correctly.
⚠️ If Something Looks Off
❌ "Service Status: OFF"
ZPA is not active. Click “Turn ON” or restart the Zscaler app.
❌ "Authentication Status: Not Authenticated"
Click “Authenticate Early” or log out and back into your device.
You may need to reconnect to your corporate network (VPN, Wi-Fi, etc.)
📈 Network Usage Stats
At the bottom of the screen, you can also view:
Total Bytes Sent / Received
Useful for basic troubleshooting or checking activity.
💡 Helpful Tips
If ZPA is not working, try restarting Zscaler or your device.
