1. Download the App

  • Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  • Search for Microsoft Authenticator and install it.

🔐 2. Add Your Account

  • Open the app.
  • Tap the + (Add account) button.
  • Choose the account type:
    • Work or school account (for company or school login)
    • Personal account (e.g., Outlook.com, Hotmail, Xbox)

🔗 3. Link Your Account

  • On your computer, go to the security settings of your Microsoft account:
    • https://account.microsoft.com/security
  • Choose Advanced security optionsAdd a new sign-in methodAuthenticator app.
  • Follow the prompts to scan a QR code using the app.

📷 4. Scan the QR Code

  • In the app, tap Scan QR code.
  • Point your phone at the QR code shown on your computer screen.
  • Your account will be added and start generating codes.
