Cause
One or more of the following conditions may exist:
- Incorrect Image User Security type assigned in CMiC.
- User is not a member of the Image Trust Users Azure security group.
- Required Image Manager permissions have not been assigned.
Resolution
Step 1 – Review the Access Request
Confirm the user requires access to:
- Image Access
- Image Manager
- Both
If applicable, identify a reference user with the appropriate permissions.
Step 2 – Verify Image User Security
- Open CMiC Administration.
- Navigate to Image User Security.
- Locate the affected user.
- Review the user's security type.
For standard Image Access users, verify the security type is:
Standard
If the user is assigned an incorrect security type (such as Operations), update it as appropriate.
Step 3 – Verify Azure Group Membership
- Open Microsoft Entra ID.
- Locate the user.
- Review the user's group memberships.
- Verify the user is a member of:
Image Trust Users
If not, add the user to the group.
Step 4 – Verify Image Manager Access
If the user still cannot access Image Manager:
- Compare their Image Manager permissions with a known working user.
- Assign any missing permissions.
- Save changes.
Step 5 – Validate
Have the user:
- Log out of CMiC.
- Log back in.
- Open Image Access.
- Open Image Manager.
Verify both applications load successfully.
